lemlist alternatives: 7 options, what each costs, and when switching won't help

lemlist alternatives compared from vendor pricing pages: Instantly, Smartlead, Apollo, La Growth Machine, Reply.io and AiSDR, with cost per 1,000 emails.

Short answer

The best lemlist alternative depends on why you're leaving. Instantly and Smartlead send far more email per dollar but have no LinkedIn on their pricing pages. La Growth Machine and Reply.io keep multichannel. Apollo adds a database. If nobody has time to run campaigns, an AI SDR such as AiSDR or Outbound Labs is the real switch.

Key takeaways

  • Check your reason for leaving first. lemlist's own page now lists unlimited senders on the Email plan and 5 per user on Multichannel, so some complaints you'll read online are out of date.
  • On entry plans, lemlist's Email plan works out to $1.10 to $1.38 per 1,000 emails at its 50,000 cap. Instantly Growth is $7.52 to $9.40 at its 5,000 cap. Caps are ceilings, so treat these as comparison points, not bills.
  • Instantly and Smartlead cost less per email at volume, but neither pricing page mentions LinkedIn. If LinkedIn is in your sequences, price a second tool.
  • Sender-only tools leave the research, writing and replies to you. If that's what's not getting done, a cheaper sequencer won't fix it.
  • Almost every lemlist alternatives list is written by a vendor on it. Prices below come from vendor pricing pages read on 27 October 2026.

Search for lemlist alternatives and you get a wall of lists, and nearly every one is written by a company that sells one of the tools. lemlist's own blog has a 16-tool list. Apollo, Hunter, Salesforge and Emelia each have one too. We can't claim to be neutral either, because Outbound Labs sells an AI SDR and is on the list below. What we can do is show our working. Prices here come from each vendor's own pricing page, read on 27 October 2026. We haven't run these tools for this post, so there are no hands-on verdicts, only published numbers and the arithmetic on top.

Why do people look for a lemlist alternative?

The usual reasons are cost that grows with each seat and add-on, credits that work as a second bill, and the feeling that the tool is bigger than the job. Some of what you'll read is out of date, though. Check your reason against lemlist's current page before you spend a week migrating.

Here's the check. Hunter's list says each lemlist seat allows one sender, so more sending accounts means more seats. lemlist's pricing page now lists unlimited senders on the Email plan and 5 senders per user on Multichannel. The per-seat bill is real, but only on Multichannel. The Email plan is $55 a month on yearly billing ($69 monthly) for the whole workspace. Our lemlist pricing breakdown has the full price list, credits maths and the open questions to put to lemlist.

Complaint you'll readStill true? What to do
"One sender per seat"Not as stated on lemlist's page: unlimited senders on Email, 5 per user on MultichannelCheck the plan you're on before switching
"Per-seat pricing gets expensive"True on Multichannel ($87 yearly, $109 monthly, per user). Email is a flat workspace priceIf you only send email, test the Email plan first
"Credits add a second bill"True: enrichment add-on is $16 yearly ($20 monthly) for 2,000 credits, about 400 emails or 100 phone numbersBring your own list or price your data source
"No dialer"Apollo's article says no built-in dialer (competitor claim). Check with lemlistMatters only if you call
"Nobody has time to run it"Software can't fix thisSee the done-for-you section below

One more reason people stay. A 2026 guide in the search results says lemlist's image personalisation and LinkedIn voice-message automation have no equivalent at the same price. We couldn't verify that, so treat it as a reason to test, not a fact.

What are the best lemlist alternatives?

Seven options cover the real reasons to leave: Instantly and Smartlead for cheap email volume, Apollo for data plus sending, La Growth Machine and Reply.io for multichannel, and AiSDR and Outbound Labs if you want the work done for you. We placed them by the job they do, not by who pays us.

How much does each lemlist alternative cost per 1,000 emails?

On entry plans, sequencers cost about $1 to $9 per 1,000 emails at their listed caps. lemlist's Email plan is $1.10 to $1.38. Smartlead Base and Instantly Growth sit higher at entry because their caps are smaller. At higher tiers, both drop below $1. Outbound Labs is nearly $30, because it includes research and writing.

PlanPrice per month (yearly / monthly)Email capPer 1,000 emails at the cap
lemlist Email$55 / $6950,000$1.10 / $1.38
Smartlead Base$32 / $396,000$5.33 / $6.50
Smartlead Pro$78 / $9490,000$0.87 / $1.04
Instantly Growth$37.60 / $475,000$7.52 / $9.40
Instantly Hypergrowth$77.60 / $97125,000$0.62 / $0.78
Outbound Labs Growth$149 monthly5,000$29.80

We divided each published price by the published cap. Nobody sends exactly their cap, so a team using 2,000 emails on Instantly Growth pays far more per email than the table shows. The table also leaves out mailboxes, domains, data and the hours someone spends running it. Smartlead, for example, publishes mailbox add-ons from $3.99 to $9 per mailbox per month plus $13 to $19 per domain per year. On its $4.50 Google and Outlook option, ten mailboxes is $45 a month before the plan itself.

Is Instantly a better lemlist alternative?

Instantly suits you if you send email only and want volume cheaply. Its pricing page lists Growth at $47 monthly ($37.60 yearly) with 5,000 emails and 1,000 uploaded contacts, and Hypergrowth at $97 ($77.60 yearly) with 125,000 emails. LinkedIn isn't mentioned anywhere on the page we read.

The limit to watch is contacts, not emails. Growth's 1,000 uploaded contacts cap is small for anyone who builds new lists weekly. The page also has some internal inconsistencies, such as bundle totals that don't equal the sum of their parts, so confirm any bundle price with Instantly before paying. If you're weighing Instantly against another sender, our Saleshandy vs Instantly comparison goes through the caps in detail. lemlist's own list says Instantly covers 80 to 90 percent of an email-only team's needs, which is an unsourced vendor opinion, so run your own test.

Is Smartlead worth it over lemlist?

Smartlead is worth a look if you run many mailboxes or clients. Its pricing page says all plans include unlimited email accounts, with Base at $39 monthly ($32 yearly) for 6,000 sends and Pro at $94 ($78 yearly) for 90,000. Agencies should price the add-ons: whitelabel is $29 a month per client workspace.

It's a sender, so your team still finds the leads and writes the emails. LinkedIn isn't on the pricing page. Mailbox and domain costs are published, which is useful: you can price your sending setup before signing up. Practitioner views on its warm-up are mixed, and the evidence we found is anecdotal, so test it on your own domains with a small batch before moving everything. For the sending rules that matter whichever tool you pick, see our guide to AI cold email deliverability.

What about Apollo as a lemlist alternative?

Apollo fits when finding contacts is your bottleneck. It combines a contact database with email sequencing, and its pricing page lists Free, Basic, Professional and Custom plans. The page we read didn't show dollar prices, so check with Apollo. Its credits are pooled across the team and, per the page, don't roll over, unlike lemlist's, which its FAQ says roll over while you stay subscribed.

lemlist's blog lists Apollo at $49 per user per month, which is a competitor's claim, so verify it. Apollo's own article says lemlist has no built-in dialer, which is also a competitor's claim. Apollo is the one on this list where data and sending live together, so if you're paying lemlist plus a data tool, price it against that combined bill. Our cold email software overview covers the sender-only side.

Which lemlist alternative is best for LinkedIn and email together?

La Growth Machine is built for it. Its pricing page shows Basic at 60 EUR per identity per month with LinkedIn and email, and Pro at 120 EUR adding calls. Pricing is per identity, meaning per sender profile, so cost scales with the number of LinkedIn accounts rather than mailboxes. The page didn't make clear which billing term those prices assume, so check with La Growth Machine.

Reply.io is the other multichannel option. A third-party breakdown from Valley, which sells a competing tool, reports Email Volume at $49 per user yearly at 1,000 contacts and a multichannel plan from $89 per user. Reply.io's own page didn't load for us, so check with Reply.io. Before adding any LinkedIn tool, read our notes on LinkedIn automation, because account safety limits are the part vendors skim past.

What about AI SDR options like AiSDR and Outbound Labs?

An AI SDR is a different kind of purchase. A sequencer like lemlist sends what you write. An AI SDR finds prospects, drafts the messages and handles replies, with a human approving. If your problem is that nobody runs campaigns, this is the switch that changes anything.

AiSDR's pricing page shows $1.50 per person prospected on pay-as-you-go, with team plans unpublished and a fully managed service at $2,500 a month. That per-person model differs from the older range on our AI SDR pricing comparison, which we'll update. Check with AiSDR for what a team plan costs at your volume.

Outbound Labs is an AI SDR with six agents (Researcher, Strategist, Prospector, Writer, Sender, Closer), and you approve every campaign. Growth is $149 a month for 5,000 emails, with $0.03 per extra email, and you can start with 750 emails free, no card. It includes 5 warmed mailboxes and 1 LinkedIn account, auto-pauses above 2% bounce, and data comes from B2B data provider APIs billed by the provider. It's in early access with a waitlist. It's a poor fit if you enjoy writing sequences yourself or already have a rep who does.

When will switching from lemlist not help?

Switching won't help when the real problem is time, list quality or reply handling, since every sequencer leaves those with you. If a tool sat half-used at lemlist, it'll probably sit half-used at a cheaper tool too. A cheaper plan saves a few dollars. A missing owner costs meetings.

Take a founder paying $87 a month for Multichannel who books one meeting a month because nobody has time to research accounts. Moving to Instantly at $37.60 a month saves about $49, still gets one meeting, and costs a weekend of rebuilding. Software spend per meeting only means something once someone's hours are counted. Put your own numbers into the cost per meeting calculator before deciding whether to change tools or change who does the work.

How do you choose a lemlist alternative?

Start with the job, not the brand. Email-only sending points to Instantly or Smartlead. Needing contacts in the same tool points to Apollo. LinkedIn plus email points to La Growth Machine or Reply.io. Wanting the research, writing and replies handled points to an AI SDR.

  • Count mailboxes and seats. Per-seat pricing hurts teams of three or more; flat pricing hurts low-volume senders.
  • Price the data. Credits, uploaded-contact caps and external data tools all sit outside the headline price.
  • Run a two-week test. Send 300 to 500 emails on the same list and the same mailboxes through the old and the new tool, and compare replies and bounces.
  • Keep your mailboxes. Moving warmed mailboxes keeps their sending history. New domains start cold.
  • Ask in writing. Anything marked "check with" above is a question for the vendor.

If you stay with lemlist, you may only need a different plan. The Email plan is flat for the workspace, and the 14-day trial documented in its FAQ (a banner on the page also advertises an extended 30-day trial, so check the terms) lets you test it with your real list.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a free lemlist alternative?
Apollo's pricing page lists a Free plan that includes email campaigns with Gmail connections only. It gives no limits we could read, so check with Apollo. Several others offer trials, not free plans: lemlist's FAQ documents a 14-day trial, and La Growth Machine shows a 14-day free trial.
Which lemlist alternative is cheapest?
For email-only sending, Smartlead Base ($32 yearly, $39 monthly) and Instantly Growth ($37.60 yearly, $47 monthly) are the lowest entry prices on the pages we read. Mailboxes, data and your own time are extra on all of them.
Can I move my lemlist campaigns to another tool?
You can export leads and copy your sequence text, but timing rules, images and conditions have to be rebuilt by hand. Warm-up history stays with each mailbox, so keep the same mailboxes where you can instead of starting fresh domains.
Which alternative keeps LinkedIn automation?
La Growth Machine lists LinkedIn and email on every plan we read. Reply.io's Multichannel plan includes LinkedIn steps according to a third-party review (Valley, October 2026), so check with Reply.io. AiSDR lists LinkedIn connection requests and DMs. Instantly's and Smartlead's pricing pages don't mention LinkedIn.
Is an AI SDR a lemlist alternative?
It solves a different problem. lemlist is software your team operates. An AI SDR also researches, writes and handles replies. Compare cost per booked meeting rather than monthly price.
